Gokyo Valley Trek

Gokyo Valley Trek starts from Lukla too. The trail until trekkers reach Namche Bazaar is similar to other trekking trip of Khumbu like Everest Base Camp Trek. After acclimatization rest in Namche Bazaar via hiking of Everest View Hotel the trail heads Dole & Machhermo area leaving Everest Base Camp Trek trail near Kyanjuma. The trail consists of green lush forests and waterfalls in early part while as journey ascends higher the bushes are only vegetations. As trekkers reach the first lake the tree lines gets scarce. Second lake paves way for the major third lake which is famously known as Gokyo Lake too. Few teahouses and lodges are present in this tranquil Himalayan Khumbu hamlet. The journey of fifth lake offers breathtaking and unique view of Mt. Everest. Moreover, the hiking of Gokyo Ri (5365 m) is magnificent for sunset or sunrise view. The panoramic mountain view of pinnacles as far as Makalu can be witnessed along with Everest, Choyou, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Cholatse, Tabuche, Pumori and others. The trip then can be extended to Everest Base Camp via Chola Pass or return towards Namche via Renjo La Pass route. The usual return trip during Gokyo LakeTrek is through the same route of ascent.
